Jeff Weisel has more than 25 years’ experience working with leading life sciences and healthcare organizations on issues of strategic and business innovation, transactions and access to healthcare with focus on Asia-Pacific. He has advised corporate players, industry start-ups and institutional investors. He is currently regional Managing Director for PRMA Consulting, a technology-enabled consultancy accelerating market access globally for biopharma and medtech clients. Jeff has lived in Asia since 1994 and is based in Singapore.

Prior to PRMA, Jeff led strategy and transactions advisory work for life sciences and healthcare clients with EY. Before that he ran a boutique advisory firm focused on capitalization and commercialization of healthtech, medtech and biotech start-ups from Southeast Asia, Australia and the US.  

Previously, Jeff was Market Access & Policy Director for Asia, Australia, Africa, Middle East for Abbott (now AbbVie) where he developed and led the company’s engagement with governments, payers and other stakeholders. Before Abbott, he launched new businesses in patient and payer solutions for Zuellig Pharma, the largest provider of services to the healthcare industry in Asia.  Earlier, Jeff led Novartis in major growth initiatives across Asia–Pacific in business development and licensing (more than 40 transactions), market access and strategic planning. In these leadership roles, he helped deliver the regional success of top global brands such as Humira, Lucentis and Diovan.

Jeff has served on the Board of Governors and as chair of the Healthcare Committee for the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. He has also been a lecturer on market access strategy at the ESSEC Business School, a member of the Singapore National Health Innovation Center’s expert panel on new medical technologies and a strategy/commercial mentor for start-ups under the Graduate Research Innovation Program (GRIP) at the National University of Singapore.

He holds an M.A in Asian Studies and Economics from George Washington University and a B.A. in Political Science from Boston University.
